DC Power Port
The DC Power Port of the G105 RU is an integrated 2.5 mm x 5.5 mm DC Power Jack. This jack is used as a powering option for the product. It is designed such that the center conductor (2.5 mm male pin) is to be provided with 12.0 +/- 5% Volts DC and the outer conductor (5.5 mm female receptacle) is to be provided with the 0 Volts DC. A standard AC/DC Power Supply Unit (PSU) should be used to power the G105. The PSU should be capable of producing 12.0 Volt DC Output and supplying a minimum of 4.5 Amperes of current (54 Watts).
CAUTION: Use either the DC Power Port or the PoE++ Port for powering the G105RU. Do not use both power options or damage to the product may occur.
PoE++ Port
The PoE++ Port of the G105 RU is an RJ45 Jack. This jack is only used as a powering option for the product and is not used for Ethernet Communication with the remote.
This port utilizes a 4-pair powering configuration that is compliant with IEEE 802.3bt. The G105RU is a Type 3 PD and features an analog handshake to identify itself to the PoE Injector (PSE).
It is suggested that a high-quality category Ethernet cable with a wire gauge sufficient to carry no less than 75 Watts be utilized for the connection between the PoE Injector and the G105 RU. Refer to the earlier PoE Injector section for the necessary specifications to aid in selection.
CAUTION: Use either the DC Power Port or the PoE++ Port to power the G105RU. Using both power options simultaneously may damage the device.
Post Installation Steps
After installing the RU, connect it to the Core/gNB server or FHM. Your configuration will be dependent on the use of an ONYX-FHM-001 (Fronthaul Multiplexer) in your network configuration.
Single RU: Connect the RU directly to the Core/gNB server to s0f3 as shown below for a single RU.
Onboard the RU. Refer to the Onyx Portal Operations Guide (Manage Equipment > Manage APs > Add APs > Add APs to 5G Networks)
Multiple RU: Connect the RUs to the installed Onyx-FHM-001 starting with port 0. Ensure all RUs are of the same model.
Edit the FHM. Refer to the Onyx Portal Operations Guide (Manage Equipment > Manage FHM > Edit FHM)
RU to Core/gNB Server or FHM
