# Analytics

The Analytics feature generates Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports that provide insight into the performance and status of your networks. You can generate analytics reports for specific functions and time durations to troubleshoot and optimize your networks.

## Analytics Reports

The Analytics feature provides three report types, each providing a different view of network performance data:

### Performance Summary Report&#x20;

The Performance Summary Report presents KPIs as single numerical values, each representing an aggregate over the selected duration and equipment scope. For instructions on generating this report, see [*Generate Analytics Reports*](#generate-analytics-reports).

The Performance Summary Report includes the following KPIs.

### Performance Analytics Report

The Performance Analytics Report presents KPIs as time-series line charts over the selected duration, enabling identification of trends, anomalies, and patterns not visible in point-in-time summary values. Not all charts are displayed by default — use the Manage Reports feature to add or remove charts from the report. ## Generate Analytics Reports

**To generate Analytics Reports:**

If you are a Super Administrator, Administrator, or a Viewer, start with Step 2.

In the navigation pane, click **Analytics**.

The **Analytics** page is displayed.

Select from the following filter criteria.

As you select each criterion, the options available in the next criterion dropdown updates automatically.

If only one option exists at a given hierarchy level — such as a single network, venue, or Onyx Edge — the Onyx Portal automatically selects it and advances to the next criterion, reducing the number of steps required to reach a target AP. Where multiple options exist at a level, manual selection is required as usual.

* **Customer** – Select the Onyx Portal customer account.

* **Network** – Select the network—**All 4G Networks**, **All 5G Networks**, or a specific network. Default value: **All 4G Networks**.

To select a specific venue, in the <strong>Network</strong> drop-down, you must select a specific network.</p></div>
* **Onyx Edge** – Select the Onyx Edge—**All Onyx Edges** or a specific Onyx Edge in the selected venue. Default value: **All Onyx Edges**.

* **Access Point** – Select the AP—**All APs** or a specific AP associated with the selected Onyx Edge. Default value: **All APs**.

To select a specific AP, in the <strong>Onyx Edge</strong> drop-down, you must select a specific Onyx Edge.</p></div>

  <div data-gb-custom-block data-tag="hint" data-style="info" class="hint hint-info"><p><strong>NOTE:</strong> The analytics reports may include data for APs that do not exist (deleted and decommissioned APs) but were operational in the selected duration.</p></div>
* **Duration** – Select the duration for which the summary report must be generated—**Last 15 minutes**, **Last 30 minutes**, **Last 1 hour**, **Last 3 hours**, **Last 24 hours**, **Last 1 week**, **Last 15 days**, **Last 30 days**, **Last 60 days**, **Last 90 days**, or **Custom**. Default value: **Last 3 hours**.\
  The **Custom** option is limited to a maximum range of 90 days, as only 90 days of historical data is retained.

As you select each filter criterion, the analytics reports update automatically.

The **Performance Summary** tab, open by default, displays the performance summary report for the selected criteria.

* To download the summary report as a CSV file, click **Download Summary**.
* To view per-subscriber KPI report, click **Per Subscriber Report**. \
  The **Per Subscriber KPIs** dialog box is displayed.

  * **IMSI** – The subscriber's IMSI.
  * **Average DL Throughput** – The subscriber's average download data rate.
  * **Average UL Throughput** – The subscriber's average upload data rate.
  * **Peak DL Throughput** – The subscriber's maximum observed download speed.
  * **Peak UL Throughput** – The subscriber's maximum observed upload speed.
  * **DL Traffic Volume** – The subscriber's total downloaded data volume.
  * **UL Traffic Volume** – The subscriber's total uploaded data volume.

* By default, not all available charts are displayed in the Performance Analytics Report. To view or hide a specific chart in the report:
  1. Click **Manage Reports**.\
     The **Manage Report KPIs** dialog box displays available KPIs, categorized into Common and 5G groups.\

  2. To view a specific trend chart, move it to the **Selected KPIs** list.
  3. To hide a specific trend chart, move it to the **Choose KPIs** list.
  4. To save your changes, click **Save**.
* To download the report as a PDF file, click **Download All Charts**.

## Analytics Limitations

This section describes the limitations of the Analytics feature in this release.

### Last Data Point on Plots Sometimes Drops to Zero

The last data point on Performance Analytics plots may sometimes drop to zero for one of the following reasons:

* The last data point may factually be zero.
* The data point for the last minute may be delayed. Very likely since the graph's right edge is close to the current time, and there may be a delay in collecting the metric from the corresponding equipment.
* The last data point may be missing due to the equipment going offline.

It is recommended to ignore the last data point on the plots.

### PRB Utilization Analytics

This limitation applies to the PRB Utilization Uplink and PRB Utilization Downlink KPIs in both the [*Performance Summary Report*](#performance-summary-report) and [*Performance Analytics Report*](#performance-analytics-report).

The Onyx Edge collects five-minute averaged statistics from the APs every five minutes. Since the data is backfilled for the last five minutes, any queries including the sampling time will give different values before and after that time. After the five-minute sampling time, refresh the report to view the correct data.

For example:

> An AP provides data at 10:00:29 with the value x.
>
> This covers five minutes average, from 09:55:29 to 10:00:29.
>
> The Onyx Edge generates the following five samples: 09:56:00 x, 09:57:00 x, 09:58:00 x, 09:59:00 x, 10:00:00 x.
>
> Say, the Onyx Edge pushed these at 10:00:50 into the Orchestrator/Prometheus.
>
> Any query done including this 09:55:00 to 10:00:00 interval until 10:00:50 is void (as these five data points do not exist), and any query done post 10:00:50 will give the correct value (as these data points now exist). Post 10:00:50, these values will never change for that duration.
